Ars Musicæ


Ars Musicae was founded in 1964 during 1st Festival of Chamber music outdoors of the Uruguay in the Quinta del Arte, seat  of the Association of Music created by Renée Bonnet de Pietrafesa and Juan Carlos Pietrafesa, in whom all the existing groups of chamber music of the country have played.

In the Ars Musicae Group there took part their founders Jorge Francis (flute), Amilcar Rodríguez Inda (guitar), Ludmila Cavallaro (violin), Alicia Pietrafesa Bonnet (pianist and soprano), Renée Pietrafesa Bonnet (pianist and composer).

Ars Musicae fue creada para la difusión de la música de cámara con la ejecución de obras originales de la música tradicional, en sus diferentes períodos, seleccionando la programación en base a primeras audiciones y obras poco ejecutadas del repertorio universal y de estrenos de la música del siglo XX, especialmente de autores nacionales. Son también objetivos de Ars Musicae: integrar a la música otras manifestaciones artísticas como teatro, danza, plástica; posibilitar a jóvenes intérpretes el acceso a la música de cámara; actuar como solistas; intercambiar conocimiento con artistas extranjeros invitados, y facilitar al público en general el acceso a estas manifestaciones.

Ars Musicae was created for the diffusion of chamber music by execution of original works of the traditional music, over its different periods, programming on basis of  first hearings and works not much executed of the universal repertoire, and premieres of music of the 20th century. They are also objectives Ars Musicae: to integrate to the music other artistic manifestations as theatre, dance, plastic arts; to make possible access of young interpreters to the chamber music; to act as soloists; to exchange knowledge with foreign invited artists, and to facilitate to the public in general the access to these manifestations.

Ars Musicae Chamber Orchestra

 
2013 - Orquesta de cámara  Ars Musicæ
 

Orchestra founded in 1964 by Renée Pietrafesa Bonnet, during the First Festival of Chamber music outdoors of the Uruguay realized in the Quinta del Arte in Montevideo.

Ars Musicæ diffuses chamber music in our country its multiple aspects and from its different groups. The initial ensemble was entiched then with the Baroque Group with instruments of epoch and with the Chamber orchestra that consists of 10 instrumentalists of strings, key, flute, and in addition performers who join according to the works to interpreting. The repertoire that its executes allows to bring together international great performers with professional young performers and recognized artists of our country.

With this new group Ars Musicæ realized multiple activities among those outlined the cycle of didactic concerts Jugando con la Música for Youth concerts and the SODRE, the recital in the Complex of Spectacles of the SODRE and the concerts in the Sala Zitarrosa, all with great success.

Ars Musicæ performs in cities of the interior, executing a reperoire that spreads from the Baroque period to the present day.

James Rapportt, double-bass soloist of the Orchestra of Vienna, after an performance with Ars Musicæ declared: “I am really amazed of the musical and human level of this orchestra, and I want to return every year to Montevideo to play with them”. He emphasized exactly these aspects that so much matter for its Conductor, who proposes a very special dynamic of group and in whom every member there can develop totally his qualities of interpreter, improviser, creator, pedagogue, organizer and promotor of companionship and solidarity.

From the year 2007, Ars Musicæ realizes didactic concerts for groups of Artistic Baccalaureate and Primary Education, supported by the Department of Education and Culture in the “Espacio Renée Bonnet” of the Quinta del Arte. It is invited also by the SODRE in its cycles of Chamber music  in the Auditorio Nelly Goitiño

All the members of the Orchestra and the soloists of various works of the program are excellent professional musicians of our circle.
